Supplemental Type Certificates (STC)
The design and certification of major modifications to aircraft is Auto Avia Design’s core business. Such modifications are approved under a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). Our experience in STC data package development extends to CASA, Transport Canada, FAA and EASA certification for both Australian and overseas clients. Below is a selection of STC that Auto Avia Design has developed on behalf of aircraft operators, Original Equipment Manufacturers or local agents.
Intellectual property rights for STC packages are always negotiated with the client prior to commencement. Some customers wish to own their STC, however do not have the in-house design and certification capability to generate an STC. Other customers prefer Auto Avia Design to retain STC ownership rights, due to the requirement to provide ongoing airworthiness support.
Auto Avia Design can supply drawings for local manufacture, or arrange the supply of complete kits. To arrange the development of an STC data package, or for purchasing information for STC listed below, please contact Auto Avia Design.

Eurocopter AS350B3 Single Pilot IFR (SPIFR) Conversion
Design, flight testing and certification for CASA STC (No. ASR079SY) by Auto Avia Design.
The SPIFR conversion included the installation of a redundant AC and DC electrical system, dual hydraulic system, alternate static source selector, circuit breaker to replaceme fuses, additional instruments, lighting, and re-arrangement of the electrical bus architecture.
Extensive flight testing was conducted to demonstrate the performance of the aircraft and additional systems in IFR conditions. Flight testing included stability, performance, and simulation of probable failures during IFR operations. All flight testing was conducted by a Eurocopter France trained Pilot, and an Auto Avia Design Flight Test Engineer.
